MAT DECEMBER 2020 notification is already out. Form fill-up is going on. Form fill-up is totally online through the AIMA website.

Important Dates for December 2020 MAT Exam:

• TEST DATE: 06 Dec 2020 (Sunday)

• AVAILABILITY OF ADMIT CARDS ON THE WEBSITE: 01 Dec 2020 (1600 Hrs)

There is a provision that the candidates can give DECEMBER 2020 MAT Exam form their home. Keeping the covid-19 pandemic in mind AIMA has made this provision for the safety of the candidates.

There are 2 types of exam-options available for the candidates to choose from:

I) Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT) : IBT can be given from the comfort of the home of the candidates having Desktop or Laptop with Camera and high-speed internet connection. IBT exam mode is getting a thumbs up from many candidates. It saves both time and money. Students having Exam Hall pressure can also opt for IBT Exam mode.

II) Paper Based Test (PBT): Candidates need to go to the exams centre in order to write the exam. Many students prefer reading questions from hardcopy question paper instead of reading from the computer monitor. Many candidates have the habit of underlining important lines of the questions. They mark the questions they have already attempted with pen or pencil.  Many candidates even mark the correct options from the answers first so that they can fill up the OMR sheet later on. Digital adaptability becomes an issue for many students.

But there are few drawbacks of PBT Exam mode. Firstly, it does not have the option of changing the answer once one option is marked. Secondly, marking the round circles properly is a tough ask itself. Thirdly, sometimes candidate may mark the OMR sheet options in wrong sequence.

I personally feel that keeping Covid-19 pandemic in mind and for the own and family safety of the candidate, IBT mode of exam is the best option to go for provided the requirements of necessary hardware, power backup and uninterrupted internet connectivity are ensured.

More so because AIMA themselves have expressed their concern over successful administration of the PBT mode exam due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the prevailing government guidelines and SOPs.

In case the test cannot be administered on the scheduled test date i.e., 6th Dec 2020 at any of the centers, the registration of those candidates will be automatically carried forward to forthcoming MAT to be scheduled in Feb 2021 or later.

Candidates willing to write the December 2020 MAT Exam are advised to fill up the form as early as possible to avoid the last minute rush and server crashing.

Candidates are also advised not to use RUPAY debit card for the exam fees payment to avoid the payment failure. VISA or MASTERCARD is safe for successful payment transaction. Payment-related problems are so frequent these days with almost every exams.
